Mother of the Year 2012

I’m sure I deserve a mother of the year award for 2012. Let’s see, it was the day before Christmas Eve and my husband asks me, do we have a gift for our toddler? Can you believe it! We had no Christmas tree up, no Christmas decorations, and no gifts for our toddler.

OK, in my defence, I was homebound with preemie newborn twins and was fighting walking pneumonia, click here for that post, but still I felt rotten to have forgotten about gifting my toddler. Ok, also, I don’t think Christmas is about gifts, not at all, but what child doesn’t delight or remember opening gifts up under the Christmas tree, and what mom forgets to get a Christmas gift for her child? Oh yeah, I ended 2012 deserving mother of the year, not!

Thankfully, we were more than fully blessed via gifts for Christmas. I can’t thank my family and friends enough for all the love and gifts sent to our home this last Christmas. Thanks to all our family and friends from England, Austria, Germany, France, and NZ for your international gifts. It made for a VERY special and unique Christmas for our family. Thanks to Opa for coming over from Germany to help with the children and to Oma for sharing Christmas abroad with us, helping with our needs/children and bringing nearly a suitcase full of goodies and gifts.

What has been your best “moment” that might have you given you a mother of the year award, not?
